The lives of great men all remind us that we can make our lives sublime,
And, departing, leave behind us, Footprints on the sands of time.

- Late Alexander Menezes
(10.01.1932 - 05.10.1997)

Passionate, affable with a warm smile, philanthropic, visionary; these are part of an impressive list of credentials that Carmel Founder Late Alexander Menezes has compiled in his years of contribution in education. His dream was to provide students with a learning environment with opportunities to pursue academic and personal excellence. The clarity of his vision coupled with solid conviction, ably supported by his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Menezes, resulted in the conception of Carmel High School under the aegis of Carmel Education Society® in 1968.

The School’s motto, “Faith & Toil,” enunciated by the Founders, is relevant even today as it was 50 years ago. Their organizational skills, administrative abilities, charismatic leadership, youthful enthusiasm and drive for excellence is remembered even today and is a benchmark for many.

Their vision of Carmel’s Mission is continued today with constant improvements and innovations in education, redefining the standard of service in the field of education.
